Worship is fundamental to our relationship with God. By worshipping with song we show praise, thanksgiving, and reverence to God. He loves to hear our praise and worship.
There are several Bible verses that mention worshiping God with songs and dancing:
Psalm 149:3: "Let them praise his name with dancing and make music to him with timbrel and harp."
Psalm 150:4: "Praise him with timbrel and dancing, praise him with the strings and pipe,"
2 Samuel 6:14: "Wearing a linen ephod, David was dancing before the Lord with all his might,"
Exodus 15:20-21: "Then Miriam the prophet, Aaron’s sister, took a timbrel in her hand, and all the women followed her, with timbrels and dancing. Miriam sang to them: 'Sing to the Lord, for he is highly exalted. Both horse and driver he has hurled into the sea.'"
Jeremiah 31:4: "I will build you up again, and you, Virgin Israel, will be rebuilt. Again you will take up your timbrels and go out to dance with the joyful."
These verses depict worshiping God through joyful song and dance as expressions of praise and adoration.
Music is also a powerful tool when it comes to the mind. I am definitely not perfect, I still have my "bad" playlists on Spotify. But, we should work at being careful of what we are opening our minds to. Music can be very influential over your mindset and your attitude. The more positive our music selection is, the more your mindset will be positive.
