Have you ever been around someone that had such a positive vibe that you couldn't help but to feel good? Or been near someone laughing with one of those genuine happy laughs, that you could stop yourself from laughing along? Happiness and joy can spread like wildfire!
A few months ago we took our kiddos to Applebee's for a family dinner and it was a true example of the power of laughter and happiness. I'm not even sure what had started it but before I knew it Melanie was laughing uncontrollably and Max was following suit. Their laughter was so filled with joy and real happiness that I started laughing without control. Even Robert and Tino started to giggle! Tino is very reserved and they had him laughing and in tears. Then, the real proof that this happiness is contagious... the table next to us started laughing too!
You never know what someone else is going through and how much having a positive and joyful personality can help them. Proverbs 17:22: "A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones." Our attitude is a powerful tool.
Today, I want you to focus on building that genuine positivity that spreads to others. Have a smile on your face that radiates. Try to avoid any negativity. If your day throws you a curve ball, keep your eyes on the Lord and know that it is temporary. Find the good in those trials. James 1:2-3: "Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance." I urge you to find the song "I Smile" by Kirk Franklin. Not only will it get your moving, its all about continuing to smile even through struggles.
Psalm 118:24: "This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it."
Rejoicing can help to build that true positivity and should be a part of daily life, because the Lord is with us. There is no greater joy than knowing that were the sons and daughters of the Most High God. I love to start my day with worshipping God. I wake up before everyone else most days and turn my Spotify on to my worship playlist and sing along. While it may not make the days work easier labor wise, it makes my mindset better and helps me to tackle what the day is bringing. Don't be ashamed to get moving while you worship too! Our God loves dancing! Psalm 149:3: "Let them praise his name with dancing and make music to him with timbrel and harp." Dancing can bring out happiness.
What are you going to do today to spread positivity?
