Getting lost in nature

thechoicetostay

There is something about animals that can totally set you in a different state of mind. Even on my hardest days I can pull up my office chair to my fish tank and get completely lost and relaxed.

My dogs and cats also can give me that same state of relaxation but there is something different about staring into the waters and watching the fish swim back and forth.

In and out of the anemones is my 3 year old maroon clownfish. She goes from one to the next but her favorite is the green bubble tip anemone that she can fully immerse her body into.

My young ocilleras clownfish is my chill dude. He hangs out in his favorite spot near the sand just enjoying the sounds of the bubbler and the movement that the filter brings.

Swimming around with speed and the goofiness of a big puppy is my Scopas Tang. Since the tang is highly food driven I can throw in some tropical flakes or clip a piece of seaweed to her veggie clip and she goes crazy!

In the shadows of the rocks hides the snowflake eel that only slithers his way out when there is a freeze dried krill hanging from my feeding tweezers. As soon as he smells the deliciousness that awaits him he strikes and pulls the krill back up into his rock.

Bright yellow and spiny is our fox face that is ready to defend at all times with his spiny fins. He is the shy one of the tank and scurries near his rock formation when feeling threatened. Once near the rock he alters his colors and disappears into the landscape.

Cleaning the sand and rocks is my spectacular clean up crew including hermit crabs, shrimp, and an adorable little watchman goby. Our 75gallon tank is way less maintenance with these merry maids.

A little live coral sits on top of the rocks. Corals don't move but to watch a living plant flourishing in the tank is a testament that I am taking care of God's little reef in my home properly.

My little six striped wrasse is the one that touches every part of the tank every single day. He is an explorer but his favorite spot is in the leaves of the fake seaweed plant near the bubbler.

Do you have a fish tank in your home? I'd love to hear more about the creatures you have that give you relaxation.
