It seems like a silly question but when you've been mom and wife for so long, you tend to fade away a little. I am sitting here at my computer today because my grandma just asked what I'd like as a gift for graduating college and I am drawing blanks or the things I have been thinking of are needs like a new bed spread etc. I am even looking through another bloggers post about the best gifts for women in 2023 to see if anything catches my eye. I went with telling her I need a new pair of flip flops for now.
One of my major goals is going to be finding me again though. What did that old me like? She loved reading and going to the gym. She wore very high heels, makeup, and jewelry. She loved cars and hanging out with friends. Some of these things I'm not quite prepared to jump back into because my body is a little different than that 100lbs soaking wet girl. But as for reading we can jump right back into that.
Last night we did go to a movie/game/book store and I went ahead and got myself 4 books! I went with fiction because I already read a lot of non-fiction and how to books so its time to venture into something different. I miss reading and want to dive back into it. Of course after looking up the books that I got I found out they're in a series and I am now reading #19 first 😂. That's okay though because the book has been very easy to mesh right into. As I am starting to read I can already feel my imagination coming back which I think will help to flourish who I really am.
Today's goal for you: Think back to you before marriage and find one thing that you loved and bring it back (Not something like drinking, drugs, sex, etc). Make sure it is something that will bring good in your life and not harm. For example if you used to love going for walks then go for walks! Get up a little earlier, get a good stroller, and just go!
